How We Began
Comb-Whoa is a woman-owned business headed by a neurodiverse founder who spent the last decade and a half in Marketing. She believes that this tool, and the community she hopes to build up in time, will support fledgling dancers, gymnasts, cheerleaders and more in their practice sessions.
Our founder, Sarah, has been searching for a product like this since she was young, taking various dance classes and practicing for level exams where unknown combinations would be tested or sections of routines that needed to be smoothed and adjusted.
After coming back to a new form of dance as an adult and finding the same struggles and few solutions. Armed with an ADHD diagnosis, and the associated knowledge of how it can impact focus and executive function, she better understood the reasons behind her issues. Yet, she remained frustrated that despite three decades of technological advances, she could find few tools that would help negate these habits. After coming up with the idea and mechanics behind such a product, she collaborated with a developer friend to build this app.
